Who doesn't need some peace and quiet in their lives? Traffic, kids, pets, aging parents, work deadlines, loud neighbors all of that noise, stress, and demand of your time makes it almost impossible to get 15 uninterrupted minutes to yourself. It doesn't matter what is stressing you out, your brain and body doesn't know the difference, it just knows it is stressed.
Stress floods your body with Cortisol and Adrenaline which narrows your blood vessels. This ‘flight of fight’ response causes your heart to beat faster and your blood pressure to increase. Your body is actually preparing to be injured, that's why your blood vessels narrow so you will bleed less, that's how serious it takes stress.
Being under chronic stress creates disease. Take Cortisol for example. Cortisol increases glucose levels in your bloodstream which can lead to Type-2 Diabetes. Cortisol changes your immune system response and it suppresses the digestive system and reproductive growth processes.
